Life in the OC - another 6 mths

When I first moved to CA I was miserable.  I had a 9 mth old baby, a house 1/2 the size as m home in Michigan, no yard, no friends, no job, and a spouse who worked 16 hours a day.  Within short time we made friends in our neighborhood, I met some excellent handymen that helped fix up our home, I joined a moms club and we got settled.    Soon home life with an 18 mth old was not nearly as stimulating as I'd hoped and I decided to go back to work.  I made the highest wage I've ever achieved in CA.  WOW the economy is truly different here.  Within a year I was pregnant with number 2 and we were closing in on our 2nd year here....ready to move back to MICH.
Surprise more layoffs at my husbands employer left us out here for another year...so I'll enjoy my time as a stay at home mom and have fun with the kids...what's one more year right?  Well one more year is now 2 more years and I'm starting to be confused.  Where I once hated the OC, I now enjoy it.  I like my new friends here, I like our neighborhood (the house could be bigger, more modern, but its home and livable)  We've started new traditions.  We enjoy our life here....so when we've teetered with what to do...go back to Detroit or stay awhile longer...its tore me apart.

Well we rec'd word that it won't be for another 6 mths...so I've chosen to enjoy my last months here as if they really were my last.  Visit the beach, visit the museums, take a few more trips, swim more, be outside more...just enjoy it more.  Its just a simple change of attitude and it can make things so much better for the whole family.
